Plumbing
Apprenticeships are nationally designed training programmes for 16-24 year olds who have left education or are already in employment. They offer young people the opportunity to start their career through a combination of learning options and work experience. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are looked for although full initial assessment and diagnostic testing is undertaken.

Continuous assessment plus a portfolio of evidence to relate to Plumbing.Technical Certificate - Plumbing Technical Certificate
Safety
Plumbing principles
Plumbing processes
Cold water systems
Domestic hot water systems
Sanitation
Central heating
Electricity
Sheet lead weathering
Environmental awareness
Effective working relationships.
Consists of assessment of plumbing knowledge through external exams in all the above. In addition a record of successful practical activities carried out through assessment in college.
Functional Skills
All apprenticeships now require you to achieve qualifications in Functional Skills (instead of Key Skills). These will be at level 1 or 2 depending on the particular apprenticeship scheme you are taking. Functional skills are in Mathematics, English and ICT and these will build on the skills you have developed previously. With the exception of English speaking and listening which is assessed internally, assessment will be by externally set examinations and opportunities to take these are available at regular intervals throughout your apprenticeship.Employment Responsibilities & Rights - it is important that the apprentice is aware of the following issue’s in the context of his/her own employment:
