Elderly Care
Apprenticeships are nationally designed training programmes funded for people who have left education or are already in employment. They offer the opportunity to start a career through a combination of learning options and work experience. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are looked for although full initial assessment and diagnostic testing is undertaken.

NVQ - Care NVQ Level 2Course Content:
There are 4 mandatory units:
• Communicating with and completing records for individuals
• Supporting Health and Safety of yourself and individuals
• Developing your knowledge and practice
• Ensuring your actions support care, protection and wellbeing of individuals
To achieve the award you will select 2 optional units, advice will be given by the course tutors as to which to select.
Assessment:
Candidates are assessed in their own workplace; evidence can be direct observation as well as job knowledge questions.
Technical Certificate
This qualification ensures the learner understands the theory behind the practical side of the subject, is assignment based and one assignment is externally verified. The Technical Certificate framework in Social Care will be based on the Edexcel Awards in Care at Level 2.
