Local Apprenticeship Providers
Hear from real employers from the local area who have worked directly with Stephenson College.
JA Ball Ltd.
Stephenson College has been assisting and guiding JA Ball Ltd for some years with our training requirements for apprentices.
We have developed a good working relationship with them and have always found them to be extremely helpful and approachable.
They offer well structured training programmes which give the students opportunities to study for nationally recognised qualifications alongside their fundamental practical on-site experiences.
The teachers always give our apprentices good instruction and advise them well, we have no hesitation to recommending Stephenson College to all of our aspiring apprentices.
We look forward to continuing our working partnership in the future.
We are a joinery business based in Loughborough and have used the services of the college for the past 6 years. Their services in both providing and training Apprentices has been excellent at all times and their communication and feedback have been valuable in allowing both us and the apprentices to achieve certification and development.
Their on-site machine shop and facilities are first class and the knowledge and support from the tutors are excellent The assessment visits to us are timely and always provide worthwhile feedback and development notes for us to monitor and the student`s to aspire to .
Their support teams have always given professional and relevant advice .They certainly do look to support the student at every level and are very aware, and take note, of individual circumstance and act to help them at every opportunity.
So in all areas from recruitment of the correct students, to enrolment, study support and ongoing development I have always found all the areas willing and ready to help.
I would highly recommend them to any prospective employer considering creating links with this excellent college.

The college’s representative Lydia Wright, Apprentice Advisor – Construction has been excellent and found us several capable apprentices to interview. Following Interviews we have employed 2 apprentices, one as an apprentice plumber and the second as a business administrator. Both apprentices have fitted in really well to the company and are a credit to the college.
I have also recently sort Lydia’s advice with courses for two of staff and also to start the process of finding two more apprentices for our business in 2018.
Keytrades Maintenance Limited choose Stephenson’s College as our choice for apprentices as we feel we get a complete package from them including, Staff communication and commitment to its apprentice programmes , apprentice selection, follow up delivery. We would have no problem recommending Stephenson’s College to any local company seeking an apprentice.

Our vision and aims are at the core of everything we do and Stephenson’s College have helped us to develop this for our employees.
Over the last two years we have successfully recruited apprentices through the college who have supported us every step of the way. Their flexible approach to completing qualifications has enabled the apprentices to benefit from our detailed training programme as well as tutor support from the college to achieve Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
Communication is key and has been successful when working with all areas of the college, the pastoral support has enabled us to meet the needs of the apprentices as learners as well as deal with some of the early issues that can be found in the workplace. The college have been committed to reinforcing our expectations of the apprentices and have offered us and the individual's support to achieve outcomes.
100% of apprentices who completed the programme last year have gained successful employment with us or in another school and this year we have broadened the range and welcomed an apprentice to our premises team.
Supporting people to be successful is at the heart of everything that we hope to achieve and Stephenson’s College has been integral to this and we would not hesitate to recommend them to other employers looking to recruit and train apprentices.
