This qualification will give you education and training which can help you start a successful career in the uniformed services or progress to a more responsible job if already in employment.
The BTEC National can also be a route to further study. The course is designed to be adaptable to your needs, interests and career aspirations and consists of six compulsory core units plus a choice of specialist units. The structure of the course allows you to focus on your interests within the sector, such as outdoor and adventurous expeditions, crime and its effects on society or diversity and the public services.

Level 3
The entry requirements for the Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Uniformed Public Services are fundamental, you should have a broad education including, for example, a BTEC First in Public Services and / or five GCSE’s (graded C or above) and, in addition, the interest and potential to succeed in achieving the qualification.

The underpinning knowledge is delivered using a range of methods, including tutorials, group work and projects. Learners are encouraged to develop the skills and knowledge which will allow them to work independently where possible.
Practical activities will play a central role within the course. Learners will be required to participate in residential camping & adventurous activities.
Each unit will be internally assessed using a variety of methods: presentations, assignments & practical observations.
The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Uniformed Public Services is broadly equivalent to three A levels, and it is possible for you to progress further into Higher Education, as successful BTEC Diploma qualifications give UCAS points for university applications.
Learners are required to purchase a uniform at the beginning of term.
