You will attend an interview and take an Initial Assessment.

Course Length

1 Year (full time).

What will I study

A variety of topics are covered including taking part in sport, assisting at a sport or leisure event, improving your own fitness, risks & hazards in sport, how the body works, planning your own fitness program and job opportunities in sports & leisure. You will also be given the opportunity to attend an overseas sporting residential, various outdoor activities, including white water rafting, cycling and canoeing. You will also learn functional skills which are English, Maths and ICT as required.

How will I learn?

A variety of learning approaches will be used and include; work-based activities, role-play and simulations, independent learning opportunities, knowledge based sessions and a work placement.

How will I be assessed?

The programme is continually assessed on the basis of assignments and practical activities

Where could it lead?

Employment in leisure centres, health clubs, youth centres and sports clubs and entry to a level 2 course
