A course for people wishing to get a foot on the ladder of an exciting career in motorcycle maintenance & repair.
Level 1
There are no formal entry requirements, but during an interview, and on the course, applicants must demonstrate a clear commitment to learning and demonstrate appropriate standards of behaviour.
36 weeks / 1 academic year
A number of Units totalling a minimum of 29 credits, including Health & Safety, Braking systems, Steering and Suspension, Engine operation, Motorcycle Construction, Routine Maintenance. You will also study functional skills to improve your maths English & IT skills, along with five employability skills units.
You will be taught in one of our modern well equipped workshops, as well as having some theory sessions in our comfortable classrooms. You will demonstrate set practical skills in the workshop. Our teaching style adapts to the needs of our students, so you are bound to learn and find it interesting.
Mainly by completing set observed tasks in the workshop, and completing the supporting paperwork with the correct information. There are some formal on-line multiple choice type tests too.
Progression to a higher level course, or an opportunity to look for work in the subject. You may even want to change to a car level 2 course for a more rounded experience with more employment opportunities.
