Motor Vehicle Driver CPC

Course Description

By law every large goods and passenger carrying vehicle driver requires or will soon require a CPC qualification. This course will qualify you to carry on driving trucks, buses and coaches.

Entry Requirements

Large goods vehicle (LGV) or passenger carrying vehicle (PCV) licence. (Formally known as HGV and PSV licences)

Course Length

The course is 35 hours in total. This covers the amount of training required over a 5 year period.

What will I study

Driving techniques, Fuel economy, Safe loading, Braking techniques.

How will I learn?

The course will de delivered partially in the classroom with some practical elements in the working environment at college.

How will I be assessed?

Assessments are by oral questioning, practical assessment and port folio building.

Where could it lead?

Candidates will be able to carry on driving and this qualification will enhance their professional status. Lack of this qualification could damage the candidates ability to gain work.

Materials/Equipment Required

Stationary, workwear, workboots with toe 'tectors.Course notes will be provided by the collage and these can be retained by the candidate for future reference.
