Course Description

The course is designed for anyone who is required to inspect and test electrical installations.The scheme has been developed in association with the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installations Contracting (NICEIC) and will satisfy the NICEIC';s particular requirements that prospective qualifying managers and operatives are fully conversant with the requirements of BS 7671 for inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations.

Entry Requirements

Experience and qualifications in electrical installations. City & Guilds 2382 (17th Edition Wiring Regulations) is strongly recommended.

Course Length

4 days1 day per week09:00-17:00plus practical exam (AM/PM slot time TBA) & written exam to take place on a set EVENING (set by City and Guilds)

What will I study

IEE Guidance Notes 3 Inspection and Testing

How will I learn?

The course consists of classroom instruction and practical demonstrations and culminates in a written theory paper and a practical assessments.

How will I be assessed?

City & Guilds written paper - short and long answer (2½ hours) taking place on an EVENING set by City and Guilds.Inspection, Testing and Certification - practical (up to 3 hours) Session to be agreed with the college on a AM or PM slot.
