Course Description

This is a test of welder competence and does not include any tuition and so should attract welders with experience who require a certificate to prove this.

Entry Requirements

The only pre-requisite is experience of welding to a reasonable standard.

Course Length

The test is over a 6 hour period; either in one session during normal college hours, or over 3 sessions during evening classes.

How will I be assessed?

Visual inspection, destructive and non-destructive testing of completed welded samples.

Where could it lead?

This is proof of competence in welding and, as such, will provide evidence of competency to existing and prospective employers.

Materials/Equipment Required

Flat sheet and plate, low carbon steel, up to 10mm thick. Any other thickness or form will be supplied by the candidate. The college can supply to special requirement, but will incur a separate charge.
