A Technical Certificate provides the skills and knowledge to underpin the NVQ Level 2 qualification.

An aptitude test followed by an interview will determine acceptance onto the course. A good level of communication and application of number skills are required.
1 year full time, 2 years part time.

Health and Safety
Plumbing Principles
Common Plumbing Processes
Cold Water Systems
Hot Water Systems
Above Ground Sanitation Systems
Central Heating Systems (Pipe work)
Electricity
Sheet Lead Weatherings
Environmental Awareness
Effective working Relationships
Also included in your programme of study may be key skills.
Our Individual Learning Plans (ILP) helps you to learn in a way that best suits your needs. You will agree an ILP with your tutor, which will include the setting of individual tasks, periodic reviews and tutorials.
You will be assessed by the completion of 11 exams in each of the subject areas and a final exam at the end of the course. You will also be assessed by completing a range of practical tasks on an individual basis.
On completion of the Technical Certificate you need to gain employment with a plumber which will enable you to work towards gaining Plumbing NVQ Level 2. Once these 2 qualifications have been achieved you can progress onto Plumbing Technical Certificate Level 3.

Practical sessions require learners to have basic plumbing tools; a list will be supplied on attendance.
