The Brickwork diploma at level 3 follows on from level 2. When you reach this level you will be working on complex practical projects in the college project areas. Theory work will consist of assignments looking at the Planning of projects, selecting and pricing materials, organising and costing labour, Health and Safety, building Regulations ect. This course gives you planning and organising skills for future employment opportunities in management in the Construction Industry.
Level 3
you must have achieved a Brickwork diploma at level 2 and have a good standard of Maths and English.
Following the completion of level 2 the course will run over 36 weeks for 2 days per week.
Practical demonstration will be given in the workshop project areas in complex carpentry. You will also work from plans and drawings which will be supplied. Theory sessions will be classroom delivery with explanation of assignments. The information you require to complete assignments will be available in college from books and PC's.
Ongoing assessment of practical work will be ongoing in college. The final practical assessment will be a practical exam. This will be assessed by your trainer to the given standards on completion of the exam. All theory assessment is carried out throughout with each unit having an end test to prove understanding of the unit. A final exam will need to passed for final completion of the course.
On completion of level 3 you could progress onto HNC or onto a Foundation Degree
All kit and equipment for practical projects in college will be supplied by the college, other than safety boots which you will need to bring for practical work. For theory work you will need to bring in a pen, pencil, ruler, calculator and drawing equipment.
