To progress to a full competence card (blue CPCS) the candidates need to complete the following NVQ units in Plant Operations Level 2.
VR 01 Conform to General Workplace Safety.
VR 02 Conform to Efficient Work Practices.
VR 386 Prepare Plant or Machinery for Operational Performance.
VR 394 Operate plant or machinery to Compact.
Candidates need to bring their PPE with them.
Hard hat, gloves, goggles, ear protection, reflective vest, protective footwear with steel toe cap and mid sole protection.
The college will provide a classroom and welfare facilities.
Practical equipment required;
Ride-on-roller that meets current legislation.
Operators manual.
Sufficient area of ground suitable for compacting, with straight runs and radii and supported / unsupported edges.
Materials to compact.
Items to create restrictions for manoeuvring.
