Entry Requirements

Basic IT skills. This course is not suitable for someone who has not touched a computer before and/who isn’t confident in using a mouse/keyboard etc.

3 hours per week
Wed afternoon 1-4pm
Thursdays 5.45-9pm

How will I learn?

The emphasis of the course is of practical hands-on experience. Students with help and guidance from your tutor, will learn level 1 software skills and work through practice assignments.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is continual throughout the course. Work is marked week by week and regular feedback given. There will be a final assessment for each unit that the learner has to achieve before moving onto the next unit. A learner can use his/her own notes as well as handbooks during these assessments.

Where could it lead?

After successful completion of the Award a student may progress onto level 2 following agreement with the course tutor

Materials/Equipment Required

You will need a USB memory stick, a folder and a pen. The college provides handouts, practice tasks, mocks, live assessments and files. Also manuals/library book for each unit.
