Course Description

This qualification will enable students to obtain a sound basis for human anatomy and physiology in relation to practical therapies and general knowledge.This qualification is compulsory for learners taking certain beauty and complementary therapy courses, as well as being studied as a subject on its own.This course, whilst demanding, is extremely interesting and informative.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, although good written English and an appreciation of biological principles are necessary. GCSE grade C, or above, in English, Science and 2 other subjects preferred (or equivalent).A minimum of 80% attendance is required by the Awarding Body.

Course Length

A variety of days and times are available to suit the individual, but generally run 3 hours per week over 36 weeks.

How will I learn?

You will learn in a modern, well equipped environment; state-of-the-art treatment rooms, using industry standard equipment and high quality products. Access to the latest online learning materials will be available, delivered using Smartboards and Plasma screen TVs. The course will be taught using a variety of approaches these include; practical work, directed learning on computers, independent study and tutorials.

How will I be assessed?

Units will be internally and externally assessed. A portfolio of assessment evidence will be developed throughout the course.

Where could it lead?

The certificate in anatomy, physiology pathology supports the full range of beauty therapy and complementary therapy courses, or alternatively can be studied as a stand alone subject.
