In academic terms the Foundation Degree is the equivalent to the first two years of Honours Degree, but in addition it will enhance your professional practice.
Level 4
Applicants should have studied to a level 3 standard NQF (National Qualification Framework).
We also require 5 GCSEs(grade C or above, one in English) or equivalent.
All applicants will be interviewed. If you are a mature learner without the required GCSE qualifiaction we are happy to discuss entry requirements on an individual basis taking into account prior learning and experience.
The Foundation Degree course takes three years attending college one afternoon or evening a week.
There are two levels of study, each module at level 4 is matched by a progression module at level 5, allowing you to develop and extend your knowledge and understanding.There are 16 modules in all, 8 at level 4 and 8 at level 5.

Assessment is a continuous process throughout the programme and takes a variety of forms. It includes essay writing, group and individual presentations, work based reflections and peer assessment. There is no formal exam.
The Foundation Degree is an award in its own right, however on successful completion of this award you could progress to a full Honours Degree 3rd Year. Following this it is possible to apply for EYPS or Teacher Training, postgraduate.
