Basic knowledge and skills for those wishing to pursue a career in Human Resource Practice. This is a stand alone qualification culminating in the Certificate in Human Resource Practice. There are further CIPD qualifications in Personnel Management that students may follow at later stages.
Level 3
Students will be over 18 and have some experience of work in a personnel or human resources section, or have access to information on personnel in their organisation and support of that department.
You will also need to become a CIPD member within the first month of the programme starting.
One year from September to June. Monday evenings 6-9pm plus two skills development workshops held on Saturdays on dates to be agreed. Details will be given during induction.
The course provides basic knowledge and skills in matters related to personnel management. It is particularly suited to those in their first job in personnel, and those whose current work involves aspects of personnel work:
> Developing Yourself as an Effective Human resource or Learning and Development Practitioner
> Understanding Organisations and the Role of HR
> Recording, Analysing and Using HR Information
> Resourcing Talent
> Supporting Good Practice in Performance Management and Reward Management
> Delivering Learning and Development Activities
Course work involves practical work, group discussions and presentations.
You will be assessed through 6 written assignments.
Successful completion of the course leads to further CIPD study.
Access to computer equipment is available on site at the college. You will be expected to provide your own note taking materials.
