The CIPD Certificate in HR Practice (CHRP) is a foundation level qualification that will give you a solid grounding in all areas of HR and help you develop essential skills that will help you build confidence and become more effective in your working environment. It replaces the Certificate of Personnel Practice (CPP)
Level 3
This programme is designed for people already working in HR or those who would like to move into an HR role. No previous qualifications are needed however you should be familiar with Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL and PowerPoint) or similar to be able to submit your assignments.
The programme is 36 weeks long and classes are on Monday evenings between 6pm and 9pm. in order to successfully complete the CHRP, CIPD require you to attend at least 90% of classes.

You will learn through a blend of taught lessons, practical activities including role play, group discussions and your own independent research. You will be encouraged to share your own experience and learn from others. Please note that you should be able to commit at least five hours a week for independent study in addition to attending the class.
There are no examinations in this programme. Assessment will be through observation of skills and knowledge activities, case studies, your own personal development plan as well as formal written briefings and reports. Don't worry if your study skills are a bit rusty or if you are new to studying, there will be time available to to help you refresh your business writing and presentational skills.
The CHRP will provide you with a useful overview and practical understanding of the core elements that make up the HR function in an organisation. On successful completion of the programme you will receive a certificate and entitlement to membership of CIPD at Associate level (Assoc CIPD). Some people go on to study for higher levels of membership while others specialise in certain areas such as Learning & Development or Employment Law. Many people find that CHRP is sufficient for their own development needs.
